Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the FIA Headquarters in Islamabad.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid respects at the FIA Martyrs’ Memorial.
He laid flowers at the memorial and offered prayers (Fatiha).
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid great tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs in strong words.
He also chaired a high-level meeting at the FIA Headquarters.
A decision was made to restructure the FIA on modern lines, and Minister Mohsin Naqvi called for a comprehensive plan.
He directed immediate work on necessary amendments to laws and regulations to make the institution more effective.
The Interior Minister approved the urgent provision of modern technology and required weapons for the FIA.
“The FIA must meet the expectations of both the government and the public,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
“FIA will receive further incentives based on its performance,” he added.
He ordered to deal with the mafia involved in illegal immigration with an iron hand.
“Launch a ruthless crackdown and adopt a zero-tolerance policy,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
“Stopping those responsible for tarnishing the country’s reputation is FIA’s top priority,” he emphasized.
Naqvi directed to simplify immigration procedures at airports for citizens’ convenience.
He instructed the FIA to establish fast-track counters.
He also directed that the training curriculum be updated according to modern standards.
Considering staff shortages, he ordered immediate recruitment on approved vacant posts.
He requested a master plan for the renovation of the FIA Headquarters building.
He further ordered that the FIA Academy be shifted to the newly allocated land.
Mohsin Naqvi also instructed the early restoration of the Karachi Zonal Office.
FIA Director General Raja Riffat Mukhtar briefed the Interior Minister on ongoing reforms within the organization.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, CDA Chairman, and other senior FIA officials were also present on the occasion.
