The recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are deeply regrettable and condemnable, said Mohsin Naqvi. To combat terrorism, full cooperation will be extended to enhance the professional capabilities of the Counter-Terrorism Force in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Mohsin Naqvi. Police and Frontier Constabulary will be strengthened to fight terrorism, he added. To improve law and order, everyone must work together, stressed Mohsin Naqvi. In addition to increasing capacity, all provincial police forces will be equipped with modern technology, he further stated. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the needs of law enforcement agencies will be prioritized. He instructed that all institutions send reports about their requirements to the Ministry of Interior within 7 days. NACTA will play a leading role in the war against terrorism, said Mohsin Naqvi. Reforms in NACTA have already begun, he added. The original role of NACTA is being restored, said Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting also reviewed the arrangements made for the security of Chinese citizens. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi instructed to strictly implement the foolproof security plan for the protection of Chinese citizens. Facilities will be provided to the Coast Guards to prevent narcotics smuggling in coastal areas, said Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting reviewed the implementation of decisions made for counter-terrorism efforts. The meeting also assessed progress on the establishment of the Counter-Terrorism Authority in Islamabad. NACTA National Coordinator Khalid Khattak provided a detailed briefing on the implementation of the second review meeting. The meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary of Interior, NACTA National Coordinator, all IGs, IG Railway Police, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, IG Islamabad Police, Ministry of Interior, and senior officials of law enforcement agencies.
