Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud. The Saudi Ambassador, Nawaf bin Said Ahmad Al-Maliki, was also present during the meeting. They discussed matters of mutual interest and the promotion of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations. The exchange of paramilitary forces and police personnel, as well as joint training programs, were also discussed. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi proposed declaring Islamabad and Riyadh as twin cities, to which the Saudi Minister agreed. Further necessary actions will be taken in this regard, as decided during the meeting. They also talked about cracking down on the mafia responsible for sending beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. Both countries agreed to implement the prisoner exchange agreement. Legal procedures for the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners from Saudi Arabia will be completed soon. “Sadi Arabia is our brotherly Islamic country, and we will provide all possible cooperation to promote bilateral relations,” said Mohsin Naqvi. “4300 beggars’ names have been included in the Exit Control List (ECL),” Mohsin Naqvi added. “We have adopted a zero-tolerance policy against beggars going to Saudi Arabia,” he emphasized. “An effective crackdown is underway across the country against such beggar mafias,” said Mohsin Naqvi. “Saudi citizens can come to Pakistan without a visa; they can visit anytime,” he further stated. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030. “Under the current leadership, Saudi Arabia will achieve a prominent position in global economic, social, and financial sectors by 2030,” said Mohsin Naqvi. “We have extremely close ties with Pakistan, and we want to further strengthen them,” said the Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia. “We are ready for the exchange of paramilitary forces and police personnel and for joint training,” said the Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by the Additional Secretary of the Interior, Special Secretary of the Interior, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, IG Islamabad Police, and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.
